Maps of Salt Spring Island

There are several types of maps that you may find useful for navigating to and around Salt Spring Island (also known as Saltspring). These maps should help you get started.

  • Getting here

    • By ferry: map and BC Ferries schedule

    • From Earth orbit: For fun, if you have Google Earth installed, you can fly to Henri's office in Ganges from outer space using this link.

  • Street maps

    • The Lions Club produces a street map that is popular. This is their Royal LePage version, modified to be printer friendly (1.5 MB).

  • Zoning maps

    • Island Trust zoning maps: Island Trust bylaw 355 contains land use policy and zoning maps. The zoning maps are very detailed, and show lot boundaries. Here are the links for sheets 1 through 6 shown on the map index on the right. Please note that you can zoom right in for fine detail. When you print, you can choose "current view". (Typical file size is 500 KB.) Sheets 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6

  • Geographical Information System (GIS) maps

    • The Southern Gulf Islands Atlas is a partnership project between Parks Canada, Community Mapping Network and Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society. The Gulf Islands Atlas is a web-based mapping tool that brings together a variety of information about the natural and cultural attributes and resources of the southern Gulf Islands region. Here is a direct link to the map itself.

    • In partnership with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (FOC), the Capital Regional District (CRD) is managing a project to produce an atlas of natural areas within the Capital Region area.
